Female rap star Nicki Minaj has just pulled out of performing at V Festival due to bruised vocal chords, it has been reported today.

The ‘Pink Friday’ hitmaker has been ordered to rest by doctors following the reoccurrence of vocal issues, forcing her to cancel her appearance at this weekend's V Festival at the very last minute.

Organisers have said that Nicki has been unable to travel across the pond following the return of the vocal problem, saying in a statement: "Miss Mina'’s band and crew have all arrived in the UK ahead of the performance at the festival this weekend, however as the artist herself boarded her flight from New York on Friday 17th August, she felt unwell again.’’

"This is despite having thought she had overcome her vocal chord issues from earlier in the week,’’ they continued.

"Having revisited her doctor she has now been advised to rest for a week, which unfortunately means that she is no longer able to perform at V Festival," they added.

The V Festival organisers also wished Nicki a ‘’speedy recovery’’ and said that LMFAO would now climb up the ranks to take her place.

Nicki touched on her struggling vocal problems on her Twitter profile earlier this week , but still managed to perform two gigs in New York, seeing Drake join her on stage.

"It's official, my voice is GONE!" she tweeted.

Other stars to grace the V Festival stage include Tinie Tempah, Example, Ed Sheeran and Labrinth, but Nicki will not be returning to the UK until October where she will continue her ‘Pink Friday; Roman Reloaded’ tour which will feature support from X Factor graduate Misha B.

Get well soon, Nicki!
