Less than 10 minutes after entering the house, soap star legends Julie Goodyear and Cheryl Ferguson were set a secret task by Big Brother.
The two actresses were given secret earpieces through which Big Brother gave them confidential instructions to create drama in the house. When Julie heard the Coronation Street theme tune in her ear, she had to do the task; and when Cheryl heard Eastenders, it was her turn.
Their challenge got underway straight away, with Cheryl confiding in ‘The Situation’ about an apparent affair that Julie had had with an ex of hers. Joking that Julie couldn’t wait to see the bedroom because, “you like bed, don’t you?” Cheryl made the story more and more believable.
As the rest of the housemates entered the house, Cheryl confided in a selected few of them and the fake tension between her and Julie began to escalate. As their made up ‘past’ came to a climax, Julie’s part of the task involved her throwing a glass of champagne over Cheryl and telling her not to “talk shi*e”. Shocked, the other housemates didn’t know how to react, and as Cheryl burst into tears Jasmine and Coleen were instantly on hand to offer comfort and reassurance. Coleen told Cheryl, “I just don’t want to see you this upset on your first night”.
As the tension and awkwardness seemed unbearable for the unknowing housemates, Big Brother gathered them all on the sofas and explained everything. With all of the housemates congratulating the actresses on their convincing performances, model Jasmine Lennard wasn’t as happy. She told the whole house, “I don’t trust these two bitches now”.
As a reward for passing the task, the house received a ‘Soap Themed’ party. The housemates used the time to get to know each other better by bonding over beer. It even looked as if romance could be forming as Jasmine Lennard began to flirt with Prince Lorenzo and admitted that she’s always attracted to Gemini’s- and Lorenzo is a Gemini.
