With a history of former The Only Way Is Essex stars entering the Celebrity Big Brother house, we were half expecting to be seeing another star from the ITV2 show walking into the famous compound in Elstree.
But alas we didn't, despite the rumours that Lauren Goodger was going to enter. However former TOWIE star Maria Fowler may have revealed the reason why. According to Digital Spy, producers have allegedly put a ban on TOWIE stars becoming housemates.
Tweeting during last night's launch which secured 2.7 million viewers, the reality TV star wrote:
"[I] would to have gone in but they said No towie this year. Booo xx (sic)."
However that didn't stop the star from giving her verdict on the host of celebrities, including EastEnders' Cheryl Fergison and Martin Kemp.
Reacting to the reception housemate and model Danica Thrall got, Maria wrote:
"When [Danica] won miss derby I was judging,she hadnt actually won on points.But I kicked off as she was by far prettiest.So she won (sic).
"Shame she lowered herself to a 'rinsing' programme bit each to their own. She's a stunning girl."
