Robert Pattinson Heading To The Desert, Lands New 'Lawrence Of Arabia' Role

He's got tons of work coming in since splitting with Kristen Stewart

After lying low following the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal, we'll soon be seeing even more of Robert Pattinson, as he will play Lawrence of Arabia in Werner Herzog's historical drama, 'Queen of the Desert'.

Hooray!

The 'Twilight' actor has had a tough time recently after discovering his girlfriend of three years cheated on him, so this new job should certainly cheer him up!

R-Patz has landed the role of T.E. Lawrence opposite Naomi Watts in the historical drama, and it's set to be quite the challenge.

The film will chronicle the life of writer Gertrude Bell (Naomi) who defined the borders of the Middle East and was a pioneering author, archaeologist, explorer for the British Empire.

Rob, 26, will play British Army officer T.E. whose writing earned him international fame under the name 'Lawrence of Arabia'.

The star gave his first public interview yesterday (14.08.12) since his girlfriend of three years Kristen Stewart was caught having an affair with married 'Snow White and the Huntsman' director Rupert Sanders.

The heartthrob kept quiet about his personal life when probed on 'Good Morning America', however. TV host George Stephanopoulos commented: ''You seem to be doing OK,'' to which Robert replied, ''Yeah, yeah.''

Robert currently features in David Cronenberg's 'Cosmopolis' and is next set to star with Guy Pearce in Australian drama 'The Rover', as well as in indie thriller 'Mission: Blacklist'.

Sorry, Kristen who? He's doing just fine!

We've watched Rob's career develop since he hit our screens in Harry Potter all those years ago... we're so proud!

After an uncredited role in 2004 movie 'Vanity Fair', Robert makes his big screen debut proper as Cedric Diggory in 2005's Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
