Ryan Lochte is set to continue his move away from swimming sensation to bona fide celeb by setting out on an acting career, as he prepares to star in American teen drama 90210.
The swimmer, and proud owner of 11 Olympic medals, will guest star in an episode of the series' fifth season.
However he won't have to stretch his embryonic acting skills too much, as he's going to play himself. According to TVLine, the aquatic aspiring actor will turn up as a guest at a hotel where recently reunited 90210 characters Naomi and Max are staying in an attempt to bolster their relationship.
Lochte recently made his acting debut in a pair of Funny or Die videos, but despite a desire to conquer Hollywood, the swimmer also wants to take a punt at reality TV, naming The Bachelor and Dancing With The Stars as dream projects.
It seems we're going to see an awful lot of Ryan Lochte in the future, though rarely in his swimming trunks.
