She shot to fame as teenager Lizzie McGuire who had a cartoon alter-ego, and now it looks like Hilary Duff is set to make a comeback to the small screen.

The former Disney star, who has a baby son called Luca, is set to become a working mum after she confirmed that she is working on an "exciting" TV project in which she will star and produce.

Taking to Twitter to tell her fans of the good news, the actress wrote: "Ok it's official! Very excited about my development deal with 20th century fox!! t.v. here I come! :)"

It is believed that the star has signed a deal with 20th Century Fox which instructs them to create a new comedy show for her. Hilary can also be cast in another show if the production for a new comedy doesn't happen for various reasons, according to Deadline.

However, the mum of one is multi-talented and is also preparing to head back into the studio to record songs.

Revealing that she is "nervous" about recording songs, the star told E! Online:

"I'm getting kind of nervous. Next week I have all these meetings set with different producers and writers. I'm excited to start that process and I'm so nervous."

We can't wait to see Hilary back on TV, can you?
