While the Olympic Closing Ceremony took place last night (August 12) Blur along with a few thousand fans took over Hyde Park for a special outdoor gig.
They may have been headlining the event but Damon Albarn has admitted that Blur will take home just £1 each for last night's show.
Albarn told The Sun that the band were paid £300 in total for their performance as part of the Mayor of London's Olympic closing ceremony celebrations.
"Guess how much they're paying us?" Albarn asked. "Three hundred quid. When you divide that between four and add publishing, management and tax, it's down to about a quid."
But, he also said that the gigs weren't about the money: "That's not why you agree to do it," he said.
"It gives us a chance to play to a lot of people in London. In the sense of the Olympics it's nice to get involved and celebrate this amazing city. Everyone's feeling pretty good about London. I'm there with that because I love this city".
The band had previously admitted that unless they got their eagerly awaited Hyde Park performance spot on, their future didn't look so peachy.
However, it soon became apparent that the 'Parklife' stars had nothing to worry about and went on to please fans with some of their biggest hits.
Entertainmentwise went down to check out the packed setlist and were pretty impressed when the band even managed to get some of their new material amongst their hit-packed set.
