After his well publicised meltdown we didn't think many TV networks would be queueing up to employ Charlie Sheen, not least because of the vitriol the star threw at his former employer Chuck Lorre, the producer of Two And A Half Men.
But it seems that warlocks get second chances, as FX is set to pick up his new show Anger Management for a 90 episode run.
According to The Guardian Express, FX president John Landgraf has revealed that the network will be renewing Charlie Sheen’s Anger Management for an additional 90-episodes once the series meets its contractual ratings threshold; which is evidently a done deal."
That sounds like a bit of a grudging renewal, and perhaps FX set the threshold a little too low expecting Charlie to go off on one again.
The Hollywood Reporter wrote that president of Lionsgate television Kevin Beggs said :“Our writers are working in anticipation that it goes forward and starts shooting in September, and we should be able to furnish new episodes … in January 2013.”
Will FX come to regret it? Only time, and tiger-blood will tell...
