He's probably most famous for his roles as an ultra-masculine hard men, but Game Of Thrones Sean Bean is set to show his sensitive side as a cross-dresser in a new BBC drama.

The actor is starring in the new series of Cracker creator Jimmy McGovern's drama Accused, as Tracie a transvestite in a relationship with a man called Tony (Boardwalk Empire's Stephen Graham).

According to the Associated Press, Bean said: "It's unusual casting and that's the beauty of it. When he [Graham] first saw me as Tracie he said, 'You look great!"

He even talked up his chemistry with his co-star, adding: "Stephen's a pretty masculine guy but he's also got a sensitive, vulnerable side and Tony has too. The chemistry between us and what we achieved was good because we didn't have any inhibitions. He went for it and so did I."

The past series of the show has shown characters involved in a court case and the events leading up to it.

And Sean thinks that people will be drawn in by his character's tale, despite it being quite a departure for the star, saying: "It's a story about two people who love each other, it's just two guys. You end up feeling for these people, you're really drawn to their story. You want them to be all right, but eventually something has to give."
