Gary Barlow has vowed to get tough on this year's X Factor contestants as he lashes out at 2011's finalists calling them 'lazy and cocky'.
Following Simon Cowell's departure in 2010, the Take That frontman was meant to be the new Mr Nasty but whilst he was undoubtedly the toughest critic on last year's show, Gary thinks he's still got a long way to go.
Apparently the big boss Simon, who remains as executive producer, branded the 2011 contestants as weak. And Gary sounds like he agrees with Cowell's assessment as he gives his honest opinion on the the finalists in an interview with the Daily Mail's Weekend magazine. In an interview given before Gary's tragic loss last weekend, he says:
"One of the biggest shocks for me last year was how quickly people become lazy once they get into this competition."
"I found myself thinking, "Hold on, this is just the start. You haven't made it yet. Even if you win it is just the start".
"It is weird – you take people off the street and put them in this bubble and they start to act like they have arrived. You can see them thinking, 'I was born to do this, I don't have to work at it'"
Mmm we wonder who he's referring to? Little Mix? Misha B? Or maybe Frankie Cocozza?
With a new judge in the form of Nicole Scherzinger we reckon 2012 could be the best 'X Factor' yet!
