Mike Tyson soldiered on despite a Twitter user threatened violence similar to that at the midnight screening of 'The Dark Knight Rises' that saw 12 people killed.
The Twitter user posted: “This s**t ain’t no joke yo — I’m serious, people are gonna die like aurora," adding in another: “Gosh I’m still making this hit list damn I wanna kill a lot of people.”
The show, directed by Spike Lee, sees the former Boxing world champion go through moments in his career and personal life.
Tyson of course is a controversial figure, a convicted rapist with many other misdemeanors to his name.
The nature of the threats however worried police that they were dealing with an individual looking to conduct a similar event to the Colorado shootings rather than someone merely expressing their displeasure at Tyson's presence on stage.
According to the New York Post the NYPD quickly dispatched officers in an attempt to find the individual who made the threats.
