When the role of perhaps America's most iconic President comes up not just any actor can play it, so we were glad when we heard that acting legend Daniel Day-Lewis was the man chosen to play the 16th President of The United States.
With this new picture showing what the 'Gangs of New York' star looks like in costume we're even more optimistic seeing the actor take on the role, as the resemblance and similarity of demeanour look uncanny.

The movie, 'Lincoln', will be directed by Steven Spielberg, with the director telling Entertainment Weekly: "Our movie is really about a working leader who must make tough decisions and get things done in the face of overwhelming opposition."
The film looks set to be released on January 15 in the UK, the perfect time to be considered for awards. Previous political films to have got awards nods include 'The Manchurian Candidate' and 'Primary Colors'.
