WATCH: Stars Of 'Brave' Talk About Disney And Pixar's Latest Movie

Scottish cast seemed pretty proud at the premiere.

Next week sees the release of Brave across the UK, with the animated tale of Merida, a strong-willed Scottish princess the latest release from the studio behind animated classics like 'Toy Story', 'Wall-E' and 'Up'.

Yet the stars of the movie seemed less concerned with the illustrious animated shoes they found themselves stepping into, and more concerned with the movie's setting.

The film is set in a semi-mythical version of Scotland, and speaking at the premiere, stars Kelly MacDonald, Kevin McKidd, Robbie Coltrane and Craig Ferguson were pleased with how it depicted their home.

Coltrane of course knows his fantasy landscapes inside out, having starred as Hagrid in all 8 of the Harry Potter films, and he said: "It's absolutely beautiful, it's everything that's lovely about Scotland."

The film is already out north of the border, but English, Welsh and Northern Irish cinema goers will have to wait until 13th August to see if they're as bowled over by the animated version of Scotland as the cast seem to be.
