Shocking pictures of Russell Brand have been released by The Sun from his new documentary Russell Brand: From Addiction To Recovery. The screen snaps show the comedian taking class-A drug heroin in a London flat.
The video shows the Rock Of Ages star, 37, taking the drug before his eyes roll back in his head as he stares blankly at the camera.
In the BBC Three documentary, the 37-year old star is seen, sitting in London’s The Savoy hotel, watching a video of his drug use while he comments on the scenes.
He tells his friend: “A proper little junkie.”
“This is when you know it’s a disease. It doesn’t matter that I was sat in that flat in Hackney and now I’m in the Savoy. I’m jealous of me then, “ he adds.
He then makes a shocking statement. “It doesn’t make a difference to me. The money, the fame, the power, the sex, the women — none of it. I’d rather be a drug addict.”
The comedian, who has recently divorced singer Katy Perry, 27, also talks about how the drug ruined his life: “The consequences of my actions affected so many people."
“Heroin is a greedy drug, it’ll take everything. First it’ll take your money. Then it’ll take your friends, your family, your car, your house.”
“Then it’s going to take bits of your body. In the end I used to be scoring with people that had eyes missing, limbs missing.”
“You’ll take it until it takes your life. It’ll take everything until the last thing and you’ll gladly give it that rather than give up the drugs.”
Russell Brand: Addiction To Recovery is due to air on BBC Three later this month.
