We recently learned that Kristen Stewart likes to bag men that aren't hers, but it appears she's just as ruthless with movie roles. She's beaten off favourite Jennifer Lawrence for the starring role in 'Lie Down In Darkness'.
The Twilight star's reputation took a major hit among fans this week after she was caught cheating on her boyfriend and movie co-star Robert Pattinson with director Rupert Sanders.
And now she'll have to deal with a backlash from fans of 'The Hunger Games' as they discover she pipped main star Jennifer Lawrence to the post after auditioning for the main role in 'Lie Down In Darkness', an adaptation of William Styron's gritty 1951 novel.
Lawrence had been widely expected to take on the role following a stellar performance in 'The Hunger Games'. She told W Magazine she was desperate to play Peyton Loftis, a young woman in 1950's Virginia attempting to escape the confines of her dysfunctional family life. Lawrence said:
“I am obsessed with that part. I have this feeling of protectiveness over characters I want to play. If someone else gets the part, I’m afraid they won’t do it right.
"I’m trying to write the director, to convince him that I should be in his movie. I’ll chase him if I have to. I’ll sit outside his house.”
Stewart meanwhile spoke about her passion for the role in June's issue of Elle magazine, revealing:
"I want to play Peyton more than anything I can possibly taste or touch in my life. I want to play her so bad. They’re the most f*cked-up family. There’s a script adaptation, and it’s good."
Perhaps Kristen's recent behaviour has proved to the film's directors that she's perfect for the part...
Take a look at what the Twi-hards think of Kristen... it makes for interesting reading!
