Carl Barat will play guitar with elctro-rock band Eyes On Film at a one-off show in London at Camden's Proud Galleries.

The Libertines singer will play with the band on August 16 and according to NME has said that he sees his 'Forseeable future' with the band.

In a statement from Eyes On Film's management – who also manage Barat – reads: "Barat will inevitably add to the scuzzy, filthy electro rock sound the band have honed and made their own, giving it a truly commercial, 21st century edge."

This will excite fans of The Libertines and Dirty Pretty things, however, earlier this month Carl said that he would be reuniting with Pete Doherty once he had returned from rehab in Thailand, sparking rumours of a Libertines reunion.

Not just content with all this Carl has also confirmed that he has already begun recording his new solo effort.

He said: "I'm always hungry for something else. I'm working really hard on a new solo album. I spoke to Pete before he went to rehab in Thailand and there could be something happening."

Speaking further about Pete, who has now been thrown out of his rehab centre in Thailand, Carl said: "When he gets back hopefully we'll be on the same page and we'll take it from there. I'm hoping that the album will be done by the end of the year."

Barat has previously voiced in an interview with NME his hopes that the pair will "pick up where we left off".

He said of their complex relationship: "We're both doing different things, [but] I'm sure at some point we'll pick up where we left off when it's needed."
