Ashton Kutcher has tried to keep his romance with long term friend Mila Kunis on the down low to spare the feelings of ex-wife Demi Moore it's been reported.
The couple, who starred together in That 70s Show are said to be attempting to keep their relationship hidden as the star, who split with his wife of seven years in November 2011 doesn't want to humiliate Demi who has already had a tough year.
A source told Closer: "Ashton knows Demi is upset [over his new romance] but he can't pretend to not have a life because she's in a bad place. He and Mila are very much in love.”
Ashton, who was dumped by Demi after it was revealed he cheated on her with a 22 year-old is said to be serious about making a real go of it with Mila but is fearful of hurting the 'Ghost' star.
"He doesn't want to humiliate Demi, but he's divorcing her and is serious about Mila - he's moved on and is thinking about babies and marriage. He knows he looks the bad guy, but he's trying to change for Mila's sake," the source explained.
The news of Ashton and Mila has reportedly come as a blow to the 49 year-old who had hoped for a reconciliation with her estranged husband. Demi has had a difficult year having entered rehab in February for substance abuse issues and an eating disorder and is currently estranged from her three daughters who are sick of dealing with her “drama”.
The source added: "Demi's devastated because it's become clear that Mila's not just a fling. She's especially upset over Mila's age and reports she's spoken about wanting kids. It must be hard, but no one is being unsympathetic."
The couple have denied any romance but after caught kissing at the wrap party for Ashton's latest movie, the Apple CEO Steve Jobs biopic, it is difficult to pretend they are just friends.
