Since last week, rumours have been swirling that Emma Watson was a frontrunner for the role of Anastasia Steele in 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'.
Yet the star herself sought to put to bed any rumours that linked her with the role, telling Entertainment Weekly that she's not even close to taking the role, which would entail playing the submissive party in a sadomasochistic relationship.
The 'Harry Potter' star said: "I haven't read the book, I haven't read a script, nothing," she said. "There are so many movies you become attached to when I've literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - I never even saw a script!"
So, there'll apparently be no crack of the whip for Emma, despite the actress being thought a good choice by many for the role, who saw her past innocence and good acting skills as perfect to play Ana.
That's unless 'Fifty Shades' fans can convince Ms Watson to give the books a try, and look at any script that gets written.
