Katy Perry may have had her fair share of relationship drama this year but it seems with close friend Robert Pattinson reeling from the news that his girlfriend of three years Kristen Stewart has cheated on him the 'Firework' star has reportedly become his “rock” through the break-up.
The 26 year-old was a good friend to Katy when she split from Russell Brand after 14 month of marriage in December 2011 and even set her up with on-off boyfriend Robert Ackroyd, guitarist in Florence + the Machine.
A source told the Daily Star: “Katy has been a rock for Rob,”
“She has reassured him she is very much there for him just as he was there for her when she split from Russell.”
Rob is said to be devastated by the revelation that 'Twilight' co-star and girlfriend Kristen was caught kissing director Rupert Sanders, who she worked with on 'Snow White and the Huntsman' in a Hollywood carpark two weeks ago (July 17).
While he has yet to be seen or speak publicly removal vans were seen outside the mansion the couple share in Los Angeles. Those close to the actor claim he is unsure as to whether he will forgive, what she described as a “momentary indiscretion”.
Earlier this year it was revealed that Rob kept in close contact with Katy as she struggled to get over the breakdown of her marriage.
The British hunk even supported her recent 3D movie 'Katy Perry: Part Of Me', turning out to celebrate with the singer alongside teen idol couple Selena Gomez and Justin Beiber earlier this month.
