AMC's cult drama The Killing may have been loved by a select group of fans, but spokespeople for the network have confirmed that they're not going to make a third series of the show.
Today, AMC revealed “After much deliberation, we've come to the difficult decision not to renew The Killing for a third season.
"AMC is incredibly proud of the show and is fortunate to have worked with such a talented team on this project, from showrunner Veena Sud and our terrific partners at Fox Television Studios to the talented, dedicated crew and exceptional cast.”
The programme is made by Fox Studios, and they're hoping to find another home for the drama. Based on the Danish drama Forbrydelsen, the programme starred Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman as detectives trying to solve the mystery of who murdered teenager Rosie Larsen.
AMC has had big successes with flagship shows Breaking Bad and Mad Men, and so it is believed the network is looking for another stylish ratings hit.
