Covering a Nirvana song can be a risky move for any musician.
Being no stranger to raising eyebrows, Lana Del Rey gave it her best shot on Thursday night in Australia by giving her rendition of the band’s 1993 hit 'Heart-Shaped Box.'
The 26-year-old singer played the song during her show at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney, and thanks to a fan located in the front row, the footage of the performance can be seen on YouTube.
Del Rey delivered slightly quivering vocals, which fit the eerie mood of the classic song. Before leaving land of down under, the ‘Video Games’ singer has another show at the Enmore and a set at Splendour In the Grass.
Most recently, Del Rey’s debut album Born to Die went platinum and will be re-released in November with seven new tracks.
