Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner has announced that Elisabeth Moss will be returning for the next series.
Moss' character Peggy Olsen is a fan favourite and arguably the most important character in the show. Though Mad Men is filled with alpha male characters, it's really all about the girls!
A big twist at the end of the latest series left many in doubt as to whether Moss would return, but Weiner put an end to these rumours in an interview with TV Line.
In his usual straight-talking manner, he said that Moss "is going to be on the show next year. I can't say how much, in what capacity or what [her story] is going to be, but she has not left the show."
"I will spoil that one tiny piece of anticipation and tell people that Elisabeth will be showing up to work."
He reflected upon a twist in a previous season that provoked speculation that January Jones would be leaving.
"Everyone was like, ‘I guess January Jones is off the show,’ and I was like, ‘Why would she be?’ I never understood that."
Recently Mad Men received seventeen Emmy nominations, including its fifth for Best Drama Series.
