Given his background in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and his incredible success with 'The Avengers', you might've thought that Joss Whedon would stick to the comic book style characters that have turned him into arguably Hollywood's most wanted writer and director.
Yet Whedon's set to follow up the hit movie with a touch of Shakespeare, as he's set to debut his own version of 'Much Ado About Nothing'
According to the LA Times the movie is billed as "contemporary," but uses the original text, perhaps similarly to Baz Luhrman's popular take on 'Romeo and Juliet'.
The film stars Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof as the warring lovers Beatrice and Benedick, both of who have worked with Whedon before, Acker on 'Cabin In The Woods' and Denisof on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, where he met wife Alyson Hannigan.
The paper reports that Toronto Festival programmers say it "offers a dark, sexy and occasionally absurd view of the intricate game that is love."
Also starring will be Nathan Fillion, Spencer Treat and Clark Gregg. The film reportedly took only 12 days to shoot and is in black and white.
