A host of stars showed their support for Frank Ocean after he recently revealed details about his sexuality but Xzibit has taken a different stance on the matter and instead poked fun at the singer.
When questioned on Twitter whether he would work with Ocean, Xzibit didn't share the same view as Nas, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and even Beyonce, who recently spoke of her love for the Odd Future singer.
"Plans to work with Frank Ocean any time soon? #pause" tweeted Xzibit. 'The phrase 'pause' a slang term in hiphop music as a synonym for 'no homo'.
His response sparked a mixed reaction amongst his fans, with one tweeting: "Are you really that homophobic? Really? I might have just lost respect for you.. Yup definitely did. It's 2012, grow up."
The rapper later responded, tweeting: ''There will be NO apologies for me saying #pause on my own TL! Get off my planet you half a man ass n*****! #truth. None of you can see me.''
The rapper also retweeted a message from a fan, which read: "@xzibit i agree . #pause isn't a gay slur it's a verb ....coming from a gay person . I wasn't offended . Glad you back to making music"
Frank Ocean has discussed for the first time his decision to come out as bisexual in a Tumblr post last month.
The critically lauded R&B singer posted the admission online ahead of the release of his new album Channel Orange, and has been praised by peers.
Speaking to The Guardian, he said he spoke out "[for my] own sanity and my ability to feel like I'm living a life where I'm happy when I wake up in the morning, and not with this freakin' boulder on my chest."
