It has almost been a year since the untimely death of R&B singer Amy Winehouse and, despite her father saying he would never be able to forgive her ex-husband, it seems he's changed his mind...
Mitch Winehouse, in his tell-all book, 'Amy, My Daughter', barely concealed his hatred towards Blake Fielder-Civil, stating that he held him responsible for his daughter's death.
However, in a sudden turnaround, Mitch has revealed to The Sun that he could find it in his heart to forgive his former son-in-law... but only if he gets his life back on track:
“I’ve made my feelings absolutely clear about Blake over the years. He’s got a lot to answer for. The thing is, whether I like it or not, Amy loved him at one point in her life."
“He has been in jail up north but if he sorts his life out I wouldn’t rule out the chance of him doing something with the education we have planned in the future. It’s a long way off but if he can turn it round anyone can.”
The decision to possibly forgive Blake is a magnaminous one on Mitch's behalf, especially as his daughter was still very much in love with Blake long after their split.
Amy's ex-husband reportedly found a text on his phone from the late singer when he was released from jail this year, in which she asked him if she could be his baby son's godmother:
“I’d love to be god mum to your son.”
