Rachel Weisz has revealed that she once tried to change her name, after becoming frusted with her school teachers for failing to pronounce it correctly.
The 42-year-old actress is quoted by the Daily Star as admitting that her agent was not happy with the suggested replacement, fearing it made her look like a porn star to casting directors.
She revealed: "I did try to change it. In England there's this catalogue called Spotlight, where the actors send in their pictures, and I changed the spelling one time to 'Vice'.
"My agent called me up and he said, 'That sounds like a porn star', and he crossed it out. And so then I thought, 'OK, well I won't do [that]', so I did it 'V-Y-C-E'."
At point she even toyed with the possibility of sacking off her birth name altogether and starting again from scratch with a new professional moniker.
"I changed it to Kenya Campbell," she recalled. "That [also] kind of sounds a bit like a porn star."
