The owner of the adult movie theatre where veteran actor Fred Willard was arrested for lewd conduct has said the star did nothing wrong.
Willard has appeared in over 200 films, including 'Anchorman', 'Wall-E' and 'Best In Show'. He has also been a TV regular on shows such as Everybody Loves Raymond.
He was arrested earlier this week for being caught allegedly pleasuring himself in a pornographic theatre.
He was reportedly alone, and his trousers by his ankles when police caught him. He was taken to a nearby station and later released.
The owner of the theatre, named the Tiki Theater, said he "did not say anything" wrong being done, adding that "business has gone down" as a result of increased police presence.
"Customers do not come. They are too nervous to come here."
Willard's attorney, Paul Takakjian, told the Los Angeles Times that he hopes his client’s name will be cleared.
"With all due respect to the individual officer, our belief (is) that Fred did nothing in any violation of any law,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, friend and fellow actor Albert Brooks made a joke on Twitter in his favour.
He said: "I love Fred Willard. He's a great guy. For his birthday I'm getting him a den and a computer."
