Johnny Depp, Vanessa Paradis Split: Amber Heard Doesn't Want To Be Seen As A 'Homewrecker'

Johnny Depp was "definitely hooking up" with his 'The Rum Diaries' co-star Amber Heard, according to a new report.

The actor, who split with his partner of 14 years Vanessa Paradis earlier this year, was allegedly seeing the 26-year-old for a few months but when the news broke about his split with Vanessa and the rumours started to emerge, the couple decided to call it quits, reports RadarOnline.

A source told the website: "Johnny and Amber were definitely involved."

Amber was rumoured to have split from her photographer girlfriend Tasya Van Ree, but has recently been seen with her out in Los Angeles looking particularly happy together, which makes us question this 'source'.

“They definitely had chemistry carried over from the set. Amber quietly split from Tasya around the same time Johnny was secretly separated from Vanessa, so the timing was just right,” the insider continued.

“They were hooking up for months, way before he publicly announced that he and Vanessa had split up. They did a really good job of keeping their relationship on the down low for a while, especially since many people assumed that Amber was only into girls.”

According to the insider, Amber was particularly hurt by the rumours and criticism as she doesn't want it to hinder her career and they claim that actually Johnny and Vanessa, who have two children together, split last year.

“Amber has never wanted that sort of attention. She prides herself on being free-thinking and independent, not some homewrecker trying to sleep her way to the top. As soon as the media started publicizing the romance, she told Johnny that she needed some space,” they said.

"The crazy thing was that Johnny actually split from Vanessa at the end of last year, so she didn't break them up, but because they didn't announce their relationship was over until June, people were painting her as some kind of scarlet lady, which she is far from being."

Despite Johnny being one of the most eligible bachelors in Hollywood, it seems that Amber is not keen to get involved any more, as the source added: “She really likes Johnny, but she doesn’t like the drama. She isn’t really sure what is going to happen with them, but just wants the attention to cool down before anything progresses.”
