Many celebs have been supportive of Odd Futures’ Frank Ocean and his revelations regarding his sexuality. The latest to come forward is Jamie Foxx, who has been positive about Frank’s decision, explaining that he thinks it could help others to open up about their lives.
Jamie explained to MTV News “When I heard that he came out, I thought ‘Courageous, hooray for him.’ It’s just the beginning. I have several friends who live in darkness and fear, and it’s just time.”
Jamie revealed that he understood the difficulties of being gay and being part of the hip hop community. “Elton John did it, so for Frank Ocean to do it and be hip hop and black, he’s breaking ground. Kudos to him. His music is for everybody." Hip hop star 50 Cent has also been positive about Frank's revelation.
Jamie also joked that if Frank liked men, he’d have more opportunities to hook up with women, saying "Now when I put his music on, I am trying to get at the ladies. Frank, you are helping me out. You done left more for me, Frank."
We’re glad everyone is being so supportive of Frank. Let’s hope he’s inspiring his fans to be honest with themselves and others, and to be tolerant of everyone.
