The role of Christian Grey in EL James's Fifty Shades Of Grey may well be Hollywood's most coveted job at the minute, but one man who appears not to want it is True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard.
The star had been one of a host of actors strongly linked to appearing in the movie version of the kinky novel, which features explicit BDSM scenes.
Most male actors have been asked if they'd like to pick up a whip and star as Grey, and most have responded with varying degrees of enthusiasm, either being flattered to be likened to the book's sex symbol lead character, or expressing schoolboy mirth at the novel's content.
Channing Tatum said he'd appear as long as his wife could play female submissive Anastasia Steele, while Robert Pattinson reportedly said he'd lick the pages of the novel.
Yet Skarsgard was pretty dismissive of his prospects, and according to NME.com told Comic-Con: "I haven't read the book and I haven't seen a script."
Well we know that Mr Skarsgard isn't exactly in the book's target audience, but surely his curiosity might have been piqued by the speculation around him taking a part in the film?
The admission may not go down too well with the movie's producers, 'The Social Network's' Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti, whose search for a Christian may have just got that little bit easier.
