Coleen Rooney has paid tribute to her beloved grandfather, Tommy McLoughlin who has sadly passed away aged 75.
The Daily Mail has published details of the emotional memorial piece penned by Coleen, with contributions from her husband Wayne Rooney.
In the memorial piece, first published in her local paper, Coleen describes Tommy as her “childhood inspiration”. She mentions “special memories” of her grandfather “from spending my school holidays with you and my nan, helping down the pub to being stranded on the ‘love boat’ in the middle of Italy at our wedding. But the one main memory you have left me with is what a proud, well respected family man you were.”
Coleen signs off with the message with love from “your Colly Wobbles”.
Wayne Rooney added to the emotional tribute, writing “Tommy, you were a great friend and mentor to me and I really enjoyed our chats in the ‘shed’. I am going to miss the way you understood me and also the love and support you had for me and all the family. The Kings won't be the same! Love you Wayne.”
The couple’s son Kai was also mentioned in the loving message. The pair are expected to attend the funeral in Mossley Hill next Wednesday, and any memorial donations can be made to children’s hospice Claire House.
