It was a shocking moment for the nation on the last day of August 1997 when it was announced that Princess Diana, the flawed but popular icon of the Royal Family had died in a car crash in Paris and now those scenes have been recreated by Naomi Watts who continues to shoot the biopic 'Caught In Flight'.
A nation went into deep mourning, and perhaps because of the deep sense of loss and controversy there have been few attempts to capture the Princess's final moments on screen, yet here we have new pictures of Hollywood star Naomi Watts recreating Diana's fatal final hours on set in Trieste, Italy.
The star bears a striking resemblence to the tragic Princess, who was in a car with Dodi Al-Fayed being chased by paparazzi photographers when the driver lost control of the vehicle, killing the Princess and her companion.
The film will be called 'Caught In Flight', and comes after 2006's 'The Queen' for which Helen Mirren won an Oscar after portraying The Queen's conflicted reactions after the Princess's death.
