When a marriage ends usually the couple are pretty cut up about it but according to a close friend of Katy Perry's breaking up with Russell Brand was the “right decision” for the star claiming that she is “so much happier single”.
Friend and stylist Johnny Wujek who has worked closely with the star for the last five years believes that the star is much better off without her comedian husband who filed for divorce from the 'Firework' singer last December.
Speaking to LOOK magazine he said: “She's so much happier since she and Russell ended. She's not miserable at all.”
“We're all really happy for her” he added.
In the documentary movie released last week (July 5) 'Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D' that charted her year long 2011 'California Dreams' tour the 27 year-old is seen breaking down over the failing romance and speaks candidly about what went wrong.
In the footage Katy hints that Russell was jealous of her career and that in the end it got in the way of their romance. She said: “I thought to myself, 'When I find that person that's going to be my life partner, I won't ever have to choose [between the partner and my career],”
“they won't be threatened or have weird motives. Then I started to realize, that's not true.”
Johnny seems to agree and claimed that since the split the star has got even bigger. “It was the right decision that her marriage ended.” he said. “Life's good and her career is killing it. She's a free woman and she can do whatever she wants!”
Referring to men that Katy has been spotted with since the split, including Florence and the Machine rocker Robert Ackroyd the 32 year-old insists that they are just casual romances.
“She's just a girl having fun,” he explained. “That's what these guys, Rob and the French model, Baptiste [Giabiconi] popping up in her life are all about.”
Sounds like Katy is doing well!
