Ellie Goulding has finally ascended into the US Billboard Hot 100 Top 5, breaking a record in the process.
The British hitmaker released 'Lights' in North America 29 weeks ago, and has now set the bar for the longest ever climb into the Top 5.
The song had previously spent two weeks lingering at No6.
Also this week, the parent album of the same name, which also includes 'Starry Eyed' and 'The Writer', pulled in its best one-week sales figure since being released.
The star released a new free download on Tuesday, entitled 'Holding On'.
The song featured Tinie Tempah and huge demand for it resulted in hosting site Soundcloud crashing.
Her second album is due later this year.
