Mel C has confirmed that she will be a permanent judge on Superstar after impressing the audience over the weekend.

The former spice girl will sit alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber, Dawn French and Jason Donovan on the judging panel of the new ITV1 talent show.

She was offered a five figure sum to join the reality show after the producers decided to extend her time on the programme. She was originally only meant to appear on the first week of the series.

The singer is going to play Mary Magdalene in the new production of Jesus Christ Superstar, so after wowing Lloyd Webber, he convinced her to continue judging the potential stars to take on the role of Jesus.

She told The Sun: “I am absolutely delighted. It’s been an incredible experience so far and I just can’t wait for the nation to decide who will be playing Jesus in the amazing arena tour of the production.”

Lee Mead who won 'Any Dream Will Do' in 2007 reportedly asked to be a judge on the show but was turned down.

Do you think Mel C will be a good judge?
