Nick Grimshaw is one popular fella at the moment and following the news that he will replace Chris Moyles on Radio 1's Breakfast Show his celebrity pals have turned out in force to congratulate him.
The announcement of who would replace Moyles was made by controller Ben Cooper on the BBC station at 10.30am this morning (July 11).
Grimshaw joined Radio 1 in 2005 and currently presents a two hour late night show from Monday to Thursday and a second slot with Annie Mac on a Sunday evening at 10pm.
A number of his fellow radio collges took to Twitter to offer their congratulations. Fearnne Cotton wrote: '' Yaye well done @grimmers NEW Breakfast Show Dj!! #radio1''
Annie Mac added: ''So happy and delighted for Nick bloody Grimshaw. And proud that Radio 1 are clever enough to let him shine. YAY''
T4 presenter Rick Edwards said: '' very, very chuffed for @grimmers. Might start listening to R1 in the mornings again, after a lengthy, Moyles-induced boycott.''
While, his celebrity pal Lily Allen added: '@grimmers AMAZING !!!!!!! So proud of you.''
Radio 1 is currently under pressure to attract more listeners from the 15 to 29 age group, which DJs such as Fearne Cotton and Greg James help pull in.
The Chris Moyles Show attracts 7.10million listeners each morning, according to official figures, this has now dropped to 7.52million.
Nick Grimshaw will join the Radio 1 Breakfast Show in September.
