Jason Donovan has expressed his disappointment that tomorrow's Hit Factory Live gig has been cancelled, dooming his planned duet with ex-girlfriend Kylie Minogue.
The actor, singer and Superstar judge was due to join other Stock, Aiken and Waterman favourites in Hyde Park tomorrow to sing his greatest hits alongside the likes of Steps and, um, Sinitta.
His reunion with Kylie on their 1988 hit 'Especially For You' was a major selling point of the show, but the whole shebang was scrapped today after organisers were unable to restore the site to a safe condition following torrential rain and mess from the Wireless festival.
"Everyone who was heading to Hyde Park tomorrow ..... What can I say .... we are all extremely disappointed," Jason wrote on Twitter.
"We appreciate that you all must be extremely frustrated but please bear in mind that this decision was not taken Lightly.
"Can't believe it .... Was really looking forward to celebrating the wonderful work of Mike Matt and Pete and all who made those songs. So special to a generation!"
A message on Steps' official account said: "Steps are absolutely gutted that the Hit Factory concert in Hyde Park tomorrow has been cancelled.
"However we understand that the safety and well being of our fans is of paramount importance. See you on the road this summer love Steps x"
