Katy Perry has hit out at reality TV talent shows that hire judges who aren't current in the music industry.
The star, who has admitted to being approached about becoming a judge on talent shows, revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that she finds it "completely hilarious" that some shows hire stars who aren't even in the music industry.
She quipped: "People have reached out to me about the possibility of being involved and I think that it's not right for me right now. I have ideas for two or three big, creative things and I want to be able to fulfill those ideas. And it's a real commitment to be on one of those shows."
Revealing that she prefers to give out constructive criticism, Katy, who joined Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh as a guest judge on the X Factor in 2010 added:
"No, I'm not opposed to it. I think some of those shows are better than others. I like to give constructive criticism that hopefully people can apply and find valuable.
"But I do find it completely hilarious when they hire people that are not current in music and haven't been for a decade or over. Or when they're not even in music. How are you going to give a perspective when you haven't even lived it?"
What do you think? Do you agree with Katy?
