Sir Michael Caine has revealed that Alfred the butler, which he has played throughout Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy has some key moments in the highly-anticipated 'Dark Knight Rises'.
The veteran actor has hinted that Alfred is a significant element in the final instalment of the caped crusader trilogy, which will see Christian Bale reprise the role of Batman, Anne Hathaway star as Catwoman and Tom Hardy as Bane.
In a recent interview with Empire magazine, the 79-year-old actor said: "It's such a plot point that I can't tell you, I think I'd go to jail if I told you, or I'd have to kill you!
"I get some great moments. I have a couple in this last one, too."
The British actor attributes the success of the movie's to Nolan's knack for good casting.
"You look at the cast of actors that Chris has got, it's absolutely wonderful every time. And this one is no exception.
"He's got one of my favourite new young British actors, Tom Hardy, who I saw on television a couple of years ago and I went, 'Who the bloody hell is that?' And he's proved me right."
'Dark Knight Rises' will run for 164mins and 27 seconds. With a new description released ahead of the movies premiere, it certainly whets the appetite of all the keen Batman fans.
"But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane," it reads - suggesting that Batman's end may be near.
In the recently published production notes (over 50 pages worth), Nolan describes the moment that Batman and Bane clash.
"There are plenty of other large-scale action scenes in the film, but that face-to-face confrontation between these two adversaries was something I really felt was the centrepiece of the film," he said.
The new movie is set for a July 20 release.
