Scottish singing star Emeli Sande is all set to be the next Brit to make her mark across the pond, following in the footsteps of fellow British superstars Adele, The Wanted and of course, One Direction.
The 'Next To Me' singer has been receiving fantastic reviews from American critics and is all set to take the US charts by storm, it seems.
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton wrote: “Quite comparable to Adele, British songstress Emeli Sandé is a SUPER talented 24 year old who packs on the soul with each and every track!!!”
US business magazine Bloomberg said: “Adele, Aretha get upstaged as Emeli Sande plans invasion”.
Emeli, from Alford in Aberdeen, told the Daily Record: “We started very slow in America. It was small acoustic shows. We played places like Los Angeles, New York and Chicago and everywhere there has been a great reaction. It has been really lovely. They listen to the lyrics and the melody over there and the reaction has been fantastic."
“It is a good feeling and it feels like it is bubbling. It is a good time to come to America.”
Meanwhile, Emeli was also amongst a whole host of A- list celebs that attended the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards on Friday (June 29).
The singer even walked away with the 'American Express Innvovation Award.'
Good job, Emeli!
