David Beckham has spoken of his excitement about seeing The Stone Roses perform ahead of this weekend's reunion shows in Manchester.
The Los Angeles Galaxy player is known to be a big fan of the Manchester band, who will play the first of a three-night stint at Heaton Park tomorrow night (June 29).
Beckham praised the band in the official programme for the Heaton Park gigs, saying that they give him good memories.
According to The Sun, Beckham was quoted as saying: "The Stone Roses was part of my upbringing in Manchester. And being an East End boy, that's saying something.''
"Their music has inspired so many people but for me it brings back memories of the most happiest time in my football career, when I started my career at Manchester United. The fact that they are back is incredible to see."
Meanwhile, The Stone Roses have confirmed that all their reunion shows will go ahead as planned following the band's first public fall out earlier this month (June 12).
Fans were left in doubt about the band's reunion after they were forced to cut their gig in Amsterdam (June 12).
The Manchester band played to a sold-out crowd at the Heineken Music Hall when it is reported that drummer Reni walked out before the encore.
