He may be the ultimate man's man on TV, but that didn't stop Jon Hamm and girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt from becoming the victim of a resourceful criminal when staying in London to promote his new film 'Friends With Kids'.

According to E! Online the opportunistic thief stole the couple's bag in a hotel and went straight for their hotel room with their key in order to pilfer some more of the stars' possessions.

One hopes that the case is quickly solved and Jon and Jennifer feel safe to return to the UK again soon, as it would be a shame to lose Mad Men's smoothest operator from our shores on a permanent basis.

Hamm's representative confirmed to the website that an incident had taken place, but apparently refused to be drawn due to police involvement, saying: "I can't comment as it is an ongoing investigation."
