Andrew Garfield seems like a mild mannered chap, but like his charaqcter in 'The Amazing Spider-Man', Peter Parker, he can switch from personable 28-year-old to a fierce creature - if someone threatens his private life.
However it's not an arachnid that the star turns into but a fiery feline, as the star said he protects his private life "like a lion".
The actor is dating his 'The Amazing Spider-Man' co-star Emma Stone but despite huge public interest in the couple he won't talk about their romance.
As an actor, Garfield's career is going from strength to strength after roles in 'The Social Network and 'Spidfer-Man'. Yet the success has created problems for the star, as he doesn't like intrusion. When asked on ITV1 show Daybreak aboyut his relationship and chemistry with Stone he intimated that he wanted that to stay private, saying: "Well, obviously that's a bold statement."
Garfield added: "There are certain actors who are comfortable talking about personal life and private life. I'm just discovering that I'm not one of those. I protect my private life like a lion. My job is to be an actor and I love it so much and I'm so happy to do it and I'm so lucky that I get to do it because there are so many people whose job is also being an actor but they haven't had the good fortune that I've had. The rest of it has to be treated as if it was a dream because it kind of is."
