X Factor host Dermot O'Leary has praised new judge Nicole Scherzinger. It was only confirmed two weeks ago that the American singer would be on the UK version of the talent show but already she seems to be doing an impressive job.
Dermot says she understands British humour and has fitted in well with the other judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh.
"She's only done one city so far, she gets our sense of humour," he told Daybreak. "She spends so much time with Lewis [Hamilton] I suppose.
Despite the presenter's love for the new member of the panel he did admit to missing Kelly Rowland, "I miss Kelly obviously, but Nicole's brilliant. She's serene. The camera loves her."
Its been a rough year for the ex-Pussycat Doll, who split with boyfriend Lewis Hamilton and flopped on the US version of the ITV1 singing competition. But it seems things are looking up for the star who has reunited with the Formula 1 driver and celebrated her first film role in 'Men in Black 3'.
She tweeted, “I’m so excited to join the UK X Factor family. It's where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle. I can’t wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists.”
The auditions are currently in Cardiff, the last stop before bootcamp, and the ninth series will be airing in autumn on ITV1.
