The moment that confirmation came through that there would be an Anchorman 2 the anticipation became huge, especially when we all saw Will Ferrell don his moustache and hair to become Ron Burgundy in the trailer alongside the rest of the news team.
Yet there was someone missing, Christina Applegate, who played Veronica Corningstone, Ron's love interest in the first film. That was because as Applegate admitted, she didn't know if she'd be back for the new movie.
In 2008 the actress revealed that she had breast cancer, requiring a double masectomy, but now she has fought off the cancer and returned to health, she wants in on the new movie.
Now everything seems to have cleared up, as director Judd Apatow has confirmed that he'd love to see her return, and Applegate is extremely keen. Apatow told E! News: "She will be back!"
Any doubts that the actress would want to have also been quashed, as she's described it as "the best job" she's ever had.
According to Digital Spy she said: "Of course I would love to be there. They know that. The world knows that. Why would I not want to?"
