Alec Baldwin failed to return to his New York home to change ahead of the Heart Gala last night in New York following a fight with a paparazzi earlier in the day, which judging by the photographers waiting his arrival was probably a good idea.
Clearly wanting to avoid any other run ins with the photographers, the actor’s assistant arrived to pick up his suit ready for the event.

In a statement issued to Entertainmentwise by the 30 Rock star's publicist denied that the actor had “thrown any punches” and claimed that the 56 year-old only made “physical contact” with the photographer to defend himself after obtaining a marriage licence for his upcoming wedding to Hilaria Thomas.

"As Alec and his fiancée were leaving City Hall, a 'civilian' walking in front of Alec positioned himself to obstruct the view of a photographer aggressively trying to shoot the couple.
"The photographer was clearly frustrated, pushed past the bystander and assaulted Alec with his camera. There were no punches thrown, and any subsequent physical contact was simply Alec protecting himself."
The photographer in question Marcus told the New York Daily News a very different story. "He was looking mad.
"He said, 'Step back, step back.' I said, 'We're moving back.'" He recalled.
Alec than allegedly "grabbed" a second photographer.
"I said, 'Don't touch him.'“ Marcus went on.
“I knew he was going to attack me. I stepped back, and he kept coming. "He comes after me, starts shoving and punching me - one time, right in the chin. And then he started shoving me, and pushing me. Then he goes the other way."
Later the actor took to Twitter to vent his frustration at the incident.
"A "photographer" almost hit me in the face with his camera this morning. #allpaparazzishouldbewaterboarded (sic)," he wrote.
Sounds like a good idea that he didn’t get mobbed again, we don’t think Alec would be too happy!
