Cheryl Cole may not be on the X Factor anymore but that hasn’t stopped her family trying out for the show as the ‘Call My Name’ star’s niece Melissa Armstrong auditioned for the show in Newcastle yesterday.
The 21 year-old even sang one of her famous auntie’s tracks ‘Promise’ and was praised by the judges for having a “sweet voice” by N Dubz star Tulisa.
The newest addition to the judging panel Nicole Scherzinger advised the winnable star to follow her aunt’s rise to fame and join a girlband.
“I could see you doing country music or being in a girlband," she said according to The Sun.
No word on whether Melissa made it through to boot camp but we reckon if she is as talented as her auntie we could have another Geordie popstar on our hands.
It has been a pretty good week for Cheryl as her single ‘Call My Name’ went straight in at number one as the fastest selling single of this year so far.
