It was to be one of the celebrity weddings of the year, with reports suggesting that Chelsea and England mifielder Frank Lampard and TV presenter Christine Bleakley would tie the knot to cement a relationship that has seen the pair fill-up the gossip columns as well as the sport pages of newspapers.
However the Daily Mail reports that the wedding is off – or rather that despite speculation, it was never on in the first place.
The pair became engaged last year, and have had to put up with fevered rumours ever since. Lampard's injury that prevented him travelling with England to Euro 2012 looked to have opened the way to further their wedding plans, but it seems that the couple won't be taking advantage of Frank's unexpected lay-off.
Bleakley even had to deny reports that they had paid off other couples so they could get their big day this summer, or possibly next year, yet according to the Mail, they don't have any plans for nuptuals, with a spokesman for Lampard telling the paper: “There never were any plans for a wedding this year, nor have we made any plans for next year.”
