Katy Pery has been through her fair share of bad luck over the past year or so, however she's now revealed that it's been her 'belief in music' that has helped her through such troubled times.
The 'California Girls' singer split from hubby Russell Brand in December last year after a 14-month marriage. Since the break-up, Katy has been 'all about the work' and the tracks that have been released, such as 'Part of Me' have apparently referred to her relationship struggles.
Katy is now set to release new single 'Wide Awake' and her music promo for the track will premiere next week and the star has said that her latest single offers an insight into her life.
"I just wanted to tell a story about myself going through this journey, maybe sometimes trying to get out of the maze. There's good parts; there's bad parts," she told MTV News.
"Of course, there has been a lot of things that went on last year that I had to get through and overcome. I think what probably kept me going is just the purity of my belief in music."
Meanwhile, the 'I Kissed A Girl' star also sent fans into a frenzy when she thanked the audience for watching her upcoming 3D concert movie on Wednesday evening (13 June).
"Little girls rushed the screen as Katy walked around slapping hands and greeting fans. She managed to sign some autographs and pose for a few pictures before trying to disperse the massive crowd that had gathered around her," a source told People.
"She was all smiles and seemed genuinely excited for her young fans to see the film. The start of the screening was delayed a good 10-15 minutes before Katy sat down in the middle of the screaming crowd for a bit."
