Justin Bieber may seem all grown up but the 18 year-old has admitted he has a lot of “insecurities” and fears about being forgotten as just another “teen heartthrob”.
The ‘Boyfriend’ star, who has been going out with the gorgeous Selena Gomez for over a year confessed in an interview on the Today Show in the US that growing up in the spotlight has just made his insecurities worse.
"I’m 18. I have a lot of insecurities. At end of the day, me being in my position, it doesn’t get rid of those. I know that I’ve been working hard on it,” he told Marr Lauer on the Today Show earlier today (June 15).
The star, who came into the spotlight at only 15, admitted he feared of not being “remembered” and is hoping that he can make the crossover from child star into serious artist. ”I think it’s about proving people.
"I can make good music, going out and performing better than everyone else — that’s what you have to do in order for me to crossover or else I’ll be another teen heartthrob and just, but I want to be remembered.” he revealed.
The ‘Baby‘ star also said that he was insecure about girls and despite being a teen pin-up has a lot to learn about women, music and his fans.
“I’m still learning about different things. Girls, my music. I’m not all the way there. I’m at a stage, I’m growing. My fans are growing with me. I want to make music that reflects that,” he added.
